I am having a real nightmare trying to get the altinator off my alfa 156 1.
8TS (1999)
The altinator went a few weeks ago and i have just got hold of a replacment,
but cant for the life of me work out how to get the old one
off and the new one on.
There is not enough room for it to come out from the top or bottom of the
engine.
Thimking it's a care of taking off the wheel and getting at it through the
wheel arch,
Is this the way or is it a case of engine ouy?
Why the hell do they put things like the altinator in such a stupid location?

Any one done this job? how easy/hard is it?
Am i barking up the wrong tree?

Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks
Simon.

Out of the original Alfa technical documentation:

It's the same procedure with/without A/C
