Hi there,

The exhaust has started blowing on my 156 (not bad as it has done 70000
miles over 7 years on the original) but I was wondering if anyone has
any recommendations on replacement. Can anyone offer comments/advice on
the relative merits (e.g. cost, longevity, performance, looks, fit) of
any of the following options? Which would you do?

Original Alfa exhaust
After market stainless steel/performance
After market exhaust/tyre centre exhaust

Many thanks

After market stainless steel.  I did this for my 146Ti and will be doing
the same when my 156 needs it.  Shop around though as the price
variation is shocking.  I found a local place (Lytham St. Annes) that
built the pipe to suit and it was a lot cheaper than a "performance"
aftermarket job.  Comparable to "tyre centre" prices...hope he's still
there!

"Tyre centre" pipes are made from papier mache.
