I am cursed.
Today my alarm on the V6 will not disarm. The doors lock and unlock fine
from the key, but the hazzards do not flash and the warning LED on the
dash remains on. It sounded for about 15 minutes as I was driving back
from Makro :(
Suggestions other than a new batter in the plib please? Cos I already
tried that :(

I had a problem where the button on the fob collapsed on my 156. Both
key fobs were replaced under warranty. Like you I could open the car
with the key but the alarm would go off. It was also immobilised so I
was stuck.
Do you have a second fob as it was the fob that was faulty in my case?
Cheers

No. Both fobs lock and unlock the doors fine, the car drives fine. The
alarm just won't turn off.
It's stopped screaming, but is still flashing it's LED.

Not sure from the other post - does the key fob remote work at all? You said
it will unlock the car, but I don't know if you meant using the remote, or
key-in-the-lock...
The remote facility has gone with one of our keys - battery is fine as I
swapped between fobs and the second fob disarms just fine. The microswitch
dropped off in the past and I opened the key fob and soldered it back on
myself, so that isn't the problem. It must be possible for a key fob to lose
its coding/programming. Probably expensive to have it fixed/recoded too I
expect! We can open the door lock with either key manually and drive the car
with either key, but one of the fobs don't do anything remotely.

It was using the remote.
It's actually all fixed. Pulled the battery for a couple of hours until
the rechargables in alarm unit actually died. All is fine.
Sadly the TS has a similar issue. Thing is I didn't even know it still
had a factory fit alarm. I'm hoping that the same trick will work, but
the car battery is a bit screwed, and I don't know if the plib ever
actually worked as there is a cheapo factory fit alarms as well, which
is what I have been using.
Anyone know how to remove a 156 alarm?
I can stop it from shouting, but I'll need to stop the hazzards from
flashing as well.
