Anyone know what the torque wrench setting for the 2L TS plugs are?
Started the 120K service and can't find this anywhere!

Thanks

Finger-tight plus quarter of a turn works for me [1]. Make sure you put
plenty of coppaslip or moly grease on the threads to stop them
corroding, though - remember, you won't be changing them again for
another 60k miles.

[1] Technically known as a semi-grunt.

I'd agree with all of that.

Is that the imperial grunt, or the larger eurogrunt?

The imperial semi-grunt, roughly equivalent to a quick 'nnggg' on the
eurogrunt scale.

No, no, that's equivalent to two grunts and a fart.

Thanks chaps, all done, although I think I just hit the 'ohh sh##' on one of
the small plugs. So long as it holds for the next 60K..and then will have to
think what to do then.
If the car is still on the road, then I guess getting the head-off for
helicoil would not be economically worth it  by then (180000 miles, and not
something I'd like to try myself).
Is there any way of fixing a stripped thead without the head off??
I recall a 'mechanic' from a Peugeot main dealer in Plymouth, telling me
(off the record) they just did it in situ, and never worried about the swarf
falling into the cylinder !!!!

I've heard it can be done in situ.

I assume they vacuum out the cylinder before putting the plug in -
really wouldn't want to remove a TSpark head unless I really had to.

For the time being, I'd Araldite the thing in place and keep my fingers
crossed.

Are you sure you got to 'oh shiiiit' and that it wasn't just some grit
on the thread?

Indeed.  Really oh sh.tting it would probably destroy compression.

I got that dreaded feeling of tightening nicely to the point at which I was
about to stop, and then it suddenly giving a little. Didn't want to risk
investigating by slackening off again. I hope you right, but I checked and
cleaned the plug holes and seats, so pretty sure it wasn't any muck. Could
have just been the plug washers compressing, but it felt different to how
the others tightenened!
Chemical metal....I'll look into that..thanks.

Probably too late now but they are:

14mm BKR6EKPA: 2.5-3.6 daNm/25-36Nm/18-26ft/lb
10mm PMR7A: 1.1-1.6 daNm/11-16Nm/6-11 ft/lb

Thanks Gazza, will make a note ready for next time.
After ~600miles the suspect plug is still in, so fingers crossed all is
OK....although I haven't redlined it yet...:)

Cheers,
Tom
