Hi. I was hoping someone could point me to a source for a black
plastic spark plug cable clamp for a late 80's vintage 2.0L engine.
Its held onto the head cover by two yellowish slotted bolts.  Any help
would be much appreciated as my normal parts sources here in the US do
not carrt this part.  Thanks.  Jim

You'll be lucky, frankly. The plastic gets brittle in the constant heat
of the engine, and breaks up. You *might* be lucky and get some new old
stock, but don't hold your breath.  Fortunately they don't actually
matter, but there are plenty of aftermarket items you should be able to
substitute.

I'll happily look for one in dear old blighty.

In the meantime, what care you driving in the US that has a 2.0L engine
from that era?  TS or single spark?

Enquiring minds need to know.

Thanks!  I've my fingers crossed you turn one up! But if not, I'd love
to hear about any aftermarket solutions you might know of that are a
clean install for that engine.  Oh, and its just the lowly US-spec 4
plug. I do have a self-oiled centrifigal blower and intercooler that
I'm currently mounting where the A/C compressor and condensor mounted
that will hopefully come on-line this Summer and give the car a little
extra umph. So far it seems to be a clean, neat and straight forward
install so I'm left scratching my head about what I'm missing, what
unseen wall I'll hit that's kept so few people from trying/completing
this before...

We are talking about the same thing? The little plastic thing that keeps
the plug leads apart?  It really is mostly just cosmetic but you should
be able to make just about anything to fit.

Depends what they are trying to cram it into.  Front bulkhead springs to
 mind :)
