Hello,
I am a owner of a Alfa 156 1.9 JTD from 1998. Last months there are some
lights in the dashboard dead and needs to be replaced. The temperature meter
is dark and a part of the clock is also dark. My dealer tells me that it is
a very difficult job and that it takes one hour for a professional mechanic
to get them replaced.
1) is this true?
2) Is it possible to fix it yourself? and if so...how?

Many thanks
Coert

I have replaced the light bulb myself in five minutes by removing the
radio and twisting my arm inside :) - But it depends on which one of the
bulbs that is not working (some of the bulbs are fitted on top and some
in the buttom).

I guess the one hour job included removing the center of the dashboard
and fitting it all again. This is an easy job which you also can do
yourself (I have just had mine removed to have painted). I used this
guide:

Good luck :D

That's a useful link. I was stumped trying to find a location for a phone
mount...
BTW, it took a few moments to realise that the photo is reversed - I
initially wondered if the heater controls were in Greek!
