I just got my first fiero an 86 gt, I was wondering if I need to do
anything special to it before I tow it, like disconnect shafts and
whatnot.  Thanks a lot for any help.

Using a dolly? If so, back it up on the dolly and lock the front wheels
straight. I feel better if the steering wheel is tied too, but no one
else seems to do it. If it's a standard shift, you can also put the
front wheels up, but Ed Parks of the Fiero Factory has towed hundreds of
Fieros many miles with the front wheels on the ground.

If you are renting a dolly and they ask, say the car is a Pontiac and if
they ask what model, pick a standard size front-engined model. For some
reason, they seem to feel one cannot get these things onto dollies. We
can and do, of course. All the time.

If just plain towing, you really have to NOT unless it is a standard
shift. Definitely bad for an automatic and there is no driveshaft that
you can disconnect.

Good luck with your GT and welcome to the club.
