My 2.8 V6 was on an engine stand and got tipped over. The fuel rail was
sitting more or less in place but the injectors were not seated, and
the plenum was finger tight but was raised up a little because nothing
was really put together. Anyway, it took a dive and cracked the tip on
three of the injectors. These things are expensive. Anybody have a
suggestion on how to replace them cheaply? Perhaps using injectors from
another motor?

Look REALLY closely, and see if it ONLY broke the plastic tips (covers
really).
If so, any injector place can sell you just the new covers.

that's great!
Thanks for telling me that. I guess a place that does motor parts would
be where to go. I'll run over and see what they say.

My local u-pull-it junk yard let me go get some for about $1 a peice
(from an old Chevy Celebrity).
