HELP PLEASE!  Have replaced the a/c lines on my 87 fiero 2.5L 5 spd
trans 3 times the aluminum part of the lines right behind the a/c
compressor keep breaking. No unusual vibrations; and all mounts are
good ;and have been replaced just to be sure; compressor mounting is
tight and line bracket at other end of lines is tight. In the past I
have looked at picures at the dealership to see if it is missing
somekind of bracket and I do not see anything different. Could it be
the installers bending it?  Causing it to be weak and eventually break
in a few thousands miles.  Any good suggestions would be appreciated

Have you tried going to a salvage yard and getting a/c lines from another
87? If they let you, check the lines in the yard while they are still
attached and see if there are any differences with yours. You didn't mention
if your lines were OEM but I have had my 88 system working fine since
purchase and even did the R134 coversion myself with no problems. I haven't
heard of any issues with the lines cracking otherwise.
