I have an 87 Duke Coupe, daily driver for my wife, and the car I took
on many very long distance trips while searching for our boat.

I started in Fieroland with a new 86, delivered new in 85, and bought
several/many more along the way.  My most recent ones, Purple People
Eater and MsAmerica (formerly Jack Armstrong [red white and blue]) were
sold to people who had been just dying to have a 6 cylinder fiero.

This one, originally named "New Blue" as it replaced my first car,
"'Ol' Blue", turned out to have air conditioning, much to my surprise,
as I thought it was totally plain jane, so I renamed him "C'Ol' Blue".

I'd never owned, of all the ones I've had, a 4, so I thought I'd check
out the experience.  Very nice, and the one I preferred for all my long
distance driving, as it's more comfortable and quieter than the 6s.

I'll not go into all the detail, but I can send those along to any who
are interested.  He's in the very northeast corner of GA for the next
two weeks, and after that can be found someplace between there and St.
Petersburg, where I'm living on the boat while we finish its refit (you
think rehabbing a Fiero's expensive and a lot of work!!).

We've either sold everything or given it away, other than this one and
the van which is our work vehicle for hauling parts and the like.  As
it's Lydia's daily driver, I'm not certain of the mileage, but I think
it's 160ish.  I've replaced the starter, the clutch, complete front
brake system and Baretta conversion rears, recent tires all around, and
when I bought it, supposedly it was a 900 mile crate engine. Certainly,
it uses no oil and runs just fine, though it seems to take several
turns to start.  Once started, it stays running smoothly.  Typical
30MPG.

Looking for 995, but more interested in seeing it go to a Fiero nut
than some teenager who thinks it's cool but is clueless about it.

So, if you're interested in this car, please drop me a note, and I'll
send you the link to the photo gallery and the entire story, which is
detailed in the extreme, warts, candor, etc.  Lest that put you off,
with no more than putting gas in the car, and, if it were time by the
odometer, an oil change, I'd have no hesitation to drive it anywhere on
the continent.

"Believe me, my young friend, there is *nothing*-absolutely
nothing-half so much worth doing as simply messing,
messing-about-in-boats; messing about in boats-or *with* boats.
In or out of 'em, it doesn't matter.  Nothing seems really to matter,
that's the charm of it.
Whether you get away, or whether you don't; whether you arrive at your
destination or whether you reach somewhere else, or whether you never
get anywhere at all, you're always busy, and you never do anything in
particular; and when you've done it there's always something else to
do, and you can do it if you like, but you'd much better not."

Skip,

I wish I could help you out with this, especially since I'm in North
Alabama and pretty close!! :( I saw it posted on the Yahoo list and it
looked pretty nice. Unfortunately I am, as they say, "financially
challenged" for the next few months, and since timing is everything,
my timing is off. Good luck with the selling!
