What might be the cause of a (1986) 6 cylinder Fiero not wanting to start
after being left standing (with gas in the tank) for a few months?

The electrics seem OK and it will try to start if plus are removed and the
cylinders are given a shot of QuickStart.

Currently in the process of draining the old gas and refilling. But will the
old standing gas be likely to have fouled the feed lines, fuel filter and/or
injectors?

Any suggestions as to attack strategy would be appreciated.

I have never had a problem with old gas. I have had a problem with
water in gas as it will settle to the bottom of the tank and you will
only suck up water. If its not even catching a little bit I would
check for spark on one of the wires hook up a timing light hold the
trigger and turn it over. If no spark then check cap and rotor.
Good luck

Does the fuel pump run for a few seconds when you first turn on the key?
