You should be able to get that stuff in a local
junkyard. Pretty standard stuff. If you do have trouble,
tell us where you are. Perhaps one of us is nearby and
has a parts car.

Well i live in Sparta Illinois. 2 hours south of springfield and 2
hours southeast of St. Louis

Not as far as i can see, Any local junkyard will not take it off and
will not let ME take it off because they want to keep the inner body
intact. They will make more money if they sell all exterior parts
first and then sell the body/chassis as a whole AFTERWARDS.

I am also trying to find the bumper cover for an 87. i have an 85 but
thats the one with the rigid trim and square front-(Ugly). I have a
parts car also but my stuff is all rusted out and welded.. Not Spot
welded, regular welded all around the edges. Any attempt to cut would
make it useless.

So any help would be greatly accepted. Ive had this car for 6 years.
My first car and ive never driven it. =(

I hate what is going on with junkyards today!!! If you
have no help from local clubs or junkyards, then your
next best bet would be to drop a line to Ed Parks at the
Fiero Factory. I'm sure he has the stuff you need and
will ship it up from Huntsville, AL. Wouldn't hurt to
ask, anyway. He's pretty easy going. A real gent.

I probably have all you need too, but I'm not sure I'm
ready to part out the old 87 yet.

I feel like a troll in here now, sold my 86 2m4 over a year ago. I
miss it so much. Drove it from 89 to 06 as my only daily. developed a
love for alternator belts in its old age??!?! one of the heat light
motors was still orginal :-)

There is a guy in Mansfiled, about an hour north of Columbus Ohio that
parts out Fireos all the time. A long trip from the Illini state but
could be worth it. You can also find him on Ebay. He is known to have
a lot of body parts, I have even seen him have a frame to sell that
was in real good cond!!!  (that would be a lot of work!)

it would be nice if there was a name attached to this. But 'one guy'
in Ohio is quite hard to find if you don't know who you are looking
for.

If you don't know who you are looking for, then it
doesn't matter who you find, now, does it?

Silly boy. Just drive up to Mansfield, get out of the
car at the center of town and holler "YO FIERO DUDE!!!"
as loud as you can. Then when the cop comes, ask him
where the Fiero guy is.
JStricker - 19 Feb 2008 01:12 GMT
The "Fiero Guy" in Mansfield, OH, is Dale Starcher.  I haven't corresponded
with him for awhile, but he used to have several and had parts.

I work at a salvage yard and we have several Fiero's. go to
www.Nordstromsauto.com and look for the parts you need. If you dont see them
call me, I'll find you some. Bumpers are kinda big to ship but it can be
done for around $150 or so to your area.

I can take that:

one guy went by Mazda Robby on ebay his new name appears to be
"theduderick", maybe,  he has multiple parts on ebay now, if same guy
i bought from him before, good parts and willing to deal, worth the
drive Cleveland area (lots of current listings)
http://search.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_W0QQsassZtheduderick

the other guys in the ohio area, one one i mentioned below
http://search.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_W0QQsassZnightflyer87
he is in the mansfield area.

took me less than 5 min to find on ebay again, on another point if
that is the old MR guy i did not know his new ebay handle as he was
going to change it years ago and i just never needed it. I will vouch
for MR.

So yeah i got the whole front end thing 'fixed... Its rigged up bad.
But now i have two more problems. One... my front running or parking
lights dont turn on. The blinkers work but the lights do not turn on.
I Had to rewire them after some dumb f.cking 'collision' specialist
cut my wiring harness in half. Everything works but the parking
lights, no power.AND i have an issue about the light motors... They
dont go up. Turn on and grind. Would the internal parts from my 85
work on them? mine is still the 87. They are two different motors as
you probably know so I really don't know and dont want to buy all new
motors or even the expensive a.s rebuild kits...

Nope. You are better off rebuilding the 87s. They are a
much better design. In all likelihood it's just the
gears on the motors anyway. Get a couple of kits from
Rodney Dickman.

http://www.rodneydickman.com/

It's been a long time since I did it, but it's not all
that hard. Your best bet. The other possibility is to
get used headlight buckets from a junker. Whatever. But
stick with the 87-88s, don't go backwards. You would
need to swap out the wireloom too, plus a couple relays.
Definitely not worth it. I put a set of 87s in my 86GT.
That was a step in the "right" direction. :-)

The internals of the motors are different between the 84-86 and 87-88
lights.
The 87-88 lights are less prone to self destructing the expensive parts.

The most likely problem will cost you $13 to do both headlights.
http://www.rodneydickman.com/n21.html

If you open up the lid on the side of motor, you are likely to find a bunch
of little plastic granules that are the remains of the three plastic pins.

The job is easy to do.  I have done a few (I have been using 88s as my daily
driver since 1988) over the last 380K miles.
