Well Fiero fans after the 24th of this month I'll no longer have access to
newsgroups. I just got an email from Comcast indicating that they are
discontinuing the newsgroup service. They say that I can still subscribe
directly via Giganews but I think they want a paid subscription. So, I guess
I'll be seeing you guys elsewhere on the web.

Hey PePe - I have determined that I will leave any ISP
who shuts me out of newsgroups. But if you don't have
other choices, you might try Motzarella, as this person
did on another group I check in. I edited out
unnecessary parts of the message. Good luck. There are
free ones out there, but so far I haven't needed one.

Well, if finally happened! My current ISP is getting
ready to drastically trim down the number of news
servers it will handle They will only be handling their
own and the Big 8, of course.

So, this morning I went to Motzarella and registered for
their free news service. I have configured them in my
Outlook Express (news reader) and this is my first post
through their server. I suspect there are others out
there who will find themselves in a similar position. So
far, setting up with Motzarella has been pretty
straightforward, and I hope all continues
to go smoothly.

Ah, very good. Thanks!

We could set up a new group out of the ALT set and be
pretty secure, but not with the amount of activity shown
here. Too many email groups and websites. When I signed
this one up several years ago, I had to prove that we'd
get 25 hits or messages each 24 hour period. We did do
it for awhile, but even though it is a good entry portal
into the world of Fieros, we do not get enough traffic
to get a new group.

Sorry, lads, been there. I guess we just have to use
Pennock's website and the Yahoo or other email lists.
They still have life.

Yep,
Stopping in here is an old habit that I guess I'll just have to get used to
doing without. I'm on Pennocks and Yahoo Groups already so I guess I'll see
you folks there.

You could try Altopia.  $6/month.  Lots of text retention.
