Dan here,

I got this old tachometer in a box of stuff recently from a friend
who's passed away.. Can't use it myself but i'm dying to know what year
this thing was and why it was made.. I know who Don garlits is but why
was this tach made?

I posted it on ebay when I gave up trying to figure out where it came
from..

Well, I don't know much, but I remember these being sold at K-mart in the mid-70s.

Why do men's hearts beat faster, knees get weak, throats become dry,
and they think irrationally when a woman wears leather clothing?
Because she smells like a new truck.

I believe it was made by Dixco; that might help you find some more info
on it.
