I saw lots of Fata Morganas when I was in Mt Isa. (joke/pun eluding me at
the moment due to 4x deficiency)
Interesting web site. The locals around Dajarra were freaked out completely,
and wouldn't drive at night in case they were abducted and used for alien
medical experiments.
Then again, spend a week in Dajarra and you get the general idea about the
mind set of the locals. I thought I was an alcoholic until I went there.
Anyway, on my trip back to Mt Isa (at night) I only saw roos, pigs and
wandering cattle. Why is it that these dopey beasts have to stand in the
middle of only road in a 1000 sq Ks?

They are the tourist welcoming committee ? I'd guess warmth, space to
socialize etc . Plus its less hassle to walk the track than make their way
through the bush.
If I went to Dajarra I'd no doubt worry about the locals abducting me into
their spaceship :))
