I've been lurking from '00 (a relative newbie). Originally posted as Rob,
but changed to Rob2 to avoid confusion with the other Rob that was here at
the time.
Others to add - Jim, Ruley, The Great Gonzo, Bristan...

That was a Freelander vs Anything Else row :)
Pity that TD4grunt seems to have left after the spat with Tony. He was a
source of much entertainment.

Which I now greatly regret.
Life is too short and all that.........

Stevesub - 24 Aug 2005 07:10 GMT
I know where TD4grunt is. He still has the Freelander and starting to have
the problems that the rest of us Freelander owners have been experiencing
for years. He is still as one eyed about them as he ever was.
I have also been around on this group off and on for 3 or 4 years now but
travel for long periods of time mean that I have not been here full time.
Will be away again soon until Mar next year. We still have the Freelander,
the Troopy and now have a Nissan TerranoII that we keep in New Zealand.

It's been awhile since we've had a decent flame war.
Maybe I can antagonise some people by stating that UHF radios have a range
of 200Ks, and you cant get spare parts or insurance for Surfs,........
The Toyota Vs Nissan debate is a bit of a yawn.
Soft roaders Vs "proper" 4wds is well documented too.
I recall a good one about boiling water for a cup of tea. High tech gadget
Vs a box of matches, fire wood and a Billy.

Easiest way to start a flame war is to just reply to any cross post from
aus.cars. A few trolls lurking in there.

I would have subscribed to this ng around the same time I guess; I think
I have been using this handle on usenet since about 2000.
I last posted here on the 17th, which is not really all that yonks ago.
And call me "old" again, and I shall set Harold S#@$uby onto you!

just us - 24 Aug 2005 07:09 GMT
I have been watching this group for about 4 years. We posted a few times as
Kathy and Steve then someone sent me a rather rude email and told me to
bugger off LOL..... so I lurked for a good while and changed to "just us"
and the person who sent that email has not sent another since.
Tis a good group. Like all groups it has its little core group, but that is
what keeps the page turning. :)
Kathy and Steve.
