Just thought you may have done the trip thru to Valley of Lagoons from Mt
Fox? Or from the back of Paluma? We want to definitely do it over a week
later this year -

I've done trips all around there, but never been to the VOL. Great
countryside. but a lot of camp spots have been closed down, eg Running
River. The station owners will prosecute trespassers now.

Buggery Bend on the Herbert River is still open.....And because the
road is too rough for the average "urban assault vehicle", or at least
the driver anyway ["egad there is a scratch on the paint and the dust
is settling in the stitching of the leather dash"] it is still
beautiful.

Only the odd Freshie, good fishing and clean water.

Gives a whole new meaning to "Go to buggery"..

Never heard of it.

Is it on the map?

It's on the map I have in front of me....

Well sort of anyway.

Find Innot Hot Springs on your map and move South until you spot the
Herbert River. Trace the course of the Herbert past Uramo, past the
"surface of the Moon" left by the tin dredge (the dredge itself is
worth seeing if you have time) and you will come to "Buggery Point".

Buggery Bend is the deep and wide "bend" South West of Buggery Point.

To Get to it, trace back on the Station Rd (unmaintained) to the
Kennedy Highway.

Interested for Easter?

Open invite to anyone else from this group who lives in, or within
striking distance of FNQ.

Been there many times Tony :) These days it is full of ppl coming up from
the coast, not remote enough for us now. But agreed, it is a lovely place.
We camped there years ago and some idiots from Cairns arrived at 10pm,
complete with stereo and huge speakers! 3 am saw me out with the stock whip,
LOL a couple of whips and they packed up and left!!! Next morning Police
arrived from Ravenshoe - they told them we had a gun! I then had to crack
for the coppers...... LOL oh what a great story these days. Never went back
after that. If the idiots from Cairns have found it, it is ruined. (not
saying you are the idiot - I know better)
