I've just returned from a 4WD instruction weekend in Gloucester Tops -
beautiful place.
Yesterday, one of the instructors - top bloke, very experienced and
hard-core 4WDer and very professional - was talking about snatch recoveries
to all of us (about 25 people). He was comparing the winch process with the
snatch process.
He said (at which point I lost it and was doubled over while standing behind
the oblivious crowd...): "If I can get the job done with a little pull I
rarely bother with a heavy snatch".
Naturally I pointed out his worthy turn of phrase to him and I was almost
immediately put forward as club preso (or fool...). :-)
