I need to move from splits to steel wheels on my 80 series. Where should I
look for them and what should I expect to pay for them ?
What size should I be looking at to make a set of 235 x 16's legal?
I don't need new unless s/h isn't availiable.

for 235s you only need 7"
so a set of 7x16 Sunraisers from most tyre outlets will be less that
$100 each brand new

You could go for 16x7inch but the 16x8s are easier to get and they would
hold yoru side walls more vertical than 7's.
Should be able to get a set for around the $425 mark for a full set of 5.
You could try the tyre dealers for 2nd hand of course but they are second
hand for a reason. Spend up and go new.

PS IF you do get tempted to go for 2nd handies, ensure that you dont buy
some that have been repainted. Its not worth your car/life for a couple of
hundred $$$, paint hides cracks and dodgy welds.
