Taco pickup on 2L '84 Hilux

I'm fixing up an old '84 LN65 Hilux with a 2L 2.4 litre diesel in it.
At the moment I'm trying to get the gauges working.

I can't seem to locate the pickup for the taco. I've been told it may
use a sensor that mounts near the flywheel on the bellhousing. Although
I don't know what i'm looking for, I can't see anything that looks like
a sensor.

I've been told it may hook up at the back of the alternator, don't
think it's there either.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Matt.

Nope the tacho is connected to the fuel pump
there should be 3 wires on the pump
the single wire is the fuel cut off switch for the pump and the twin
wires are for the tacho
the tacho sender is in the side of the fuel pump closest to the engine
