Can anyone recommend an honest mechanic in Brisbane who's good with 4WDs?
Somewhere between Darra and Milton would be handy, but I don't mind
travelling if they're worth it.

So far my experiences with mechanics here range from the old "don't fix the
problem but charge like wounded bull anyway" trick to the old "quote $$$$ to
replace parts that were quite OK, and still OK years later" trick.

There's got to be some good ones still out there.

It's a fair way from you, but I go to Billabong Offroad at Clontarf, their
mechanic Simon is excellent. You'll still get the same issues with problems
that are hard to find, but he's always done a good deal for me. Thanks,

David

Thanks David. That is a fair way to go, but it's still good to know in case
I can't find someone closer to home.

Billabong
sellers of top quality country 4WDs
biggest bunch of tossers I have ever seen selling overpriced crap to
wood ducks who don't have a clue
country 4WDs huh?
they used to advertise them coming from such country areas as Gympie and
Maryborough, no where near Fraser and Rainbow are they

not only do you get ripped off by them, you also get free Billabong
advertising in the form of window skickers, mudflaps, numberplate
surrounds and the spastic red badge on the rear paintwork

hope their mechanic is a bit more honest than their sales department

Dunno about the sales mob, seemed a bit smarmy to me. But I've been using
their mechanic since before he started working for this mob. As I say I
haven't had a problem with him yet. Thanks,

David

you can find an honest  at www.honestrepairshop.com. If there isn;t one
listed in your area you can help other people find an honest mechanic by
writing a review
