I have a 1988 Hilux which I just aquired. I have discovered, actually
it scared the hell out off me when it first went off, that when the
speen reached 105 ks per hour an alarm sounds.  Does anybody know how
to turn the darn thing off?

Thanks

Stick ya head up under the dash and it should be above your left foot near
to the instrument cluster. Black buzzer.  Just chop one leg of the buzzer
and it wont buzz any more.

Should he slow down to 100 before he attempts this?  Putting his head
that close to the buzzer could cause deafness otherwise.

NO, get over 105 and get the missus to stick her head up there and listen
for it.  I found my first one by removeing the rear wheels and well chocking
the fronts and revving it till it got over the 105 mark. Since then Ive done
a heap of em for people that dont like em.

Good opportunity to trot out the old line "while you're down there..."?

Thanks everybody I found it and unplugged it.  It was easy to find
actually, It was labeled 12 volt speed alarm and was situated to the
left of the stearing wheel under the dash.
