You might want to check this, but I think that even though the heads
and other components will swap happily, the blocks have a different
bell-housing bolt pattern.
I think (and it is only a dim memory) that the sigma engines will fit,
also the Starion 6 for what it is worth.
The reason I recall all this is that some time ago a mate had a 4cyl
Paj that had a very tired engine. From memory he ended up putting a
Magna v6 in it, but he had to also fit the Paj V6 gearbox or something
similar.
Your best bet might be to ring some of the adaptor manufacturers and
ask them what does fit

yes the 2.6lt sigma engines did infact go into the earlier pajero's
because at the taime of the sigma faulty blocks cracking between the
expansion plugs
the pajero's had the exact same problems

I think the front wheel drive blocks won't bolt in, which I think all
Austrailan Magna's were.
Sigma blocks should go straight in, get the right one though, there are 2
width belhousings, one for the Aussie Borgwarner gearbox & one for the Jap
gearbox & Auto's, I suspect the Jap one might be the go for a Pajero.

Both pajero and magna 3.0l are both 6G74 blocks they are both the same
more interested in the fuel injection system of the TR magna.
I know that I need to remove all the frount wheeel drive system from the
magna motor

I think the simplest transplant is the Triton 2.4.
I looked into this when I owned my Paj..........smaller engine, but more HP.
simple bolt up without mods.

If you are in Sydney, you could check with Ron Masing of Coltspeed at
Meadowbank. What he does not know about Mitsubishi's probably is not worth
knowing.

The Magna V6 into Pajero swap has been covered here in their public forum:
http://www.pajeroclub.com.au/
Doesnt sound too difficult.
