Hi Guys.

Just planning our trip at Christmas and we want to come back via the Alpine
national Park, through Mount Hotham, Omeo and then up to Tom Groggin and
Thredbo.

While I am familiar with the Alpine Way from Thredbo to Khancoban, I have
never travelled along the road that my T4A as well as my Garmin Mapsource
City navigator suggests.

It looks like a good drive from Omeo straight through to Tom Groggin but I
had no idea this road ever existed, or that you can cross the Murray River
near Tom Groggin.

Does anyone know of this road and that you can actually cross the Murray
River there?

Best regards

Garry

I did the thredbo to Omeo road in a hired toyota corolla in about 2002.
Its a bit twisty in places in this was in august and still passable,
although I did bottom out the corolla a couple of times. Nothing that a
car wash couldn't fix. Its a very nice drive with some scenery, but
mostly thick rain forrest.

Thanks Woodee.

We decided to give that trip a miss this year because of the bush fires.

I may try it again later in the year, possibly in Winter, but I doubt the
roads will be open.

Best regards

Garry
