No Mazda Tributes involved in this..........

A bizarre sequence of events has found Mrs Barnsey and I without any kids
from 9.00am Sat to Monday arvo.

So we're going to...........(you'll never guess)  Einasliegh!

Oh........and we're travelling in a turbo diesel GQ Patrol with the works. I
don't think a SUV would handle the trip. :-)

You might actually need something more than a Holden ute for the next
day or two!  They've had between 2" and 3" of rain out that way in the
past couple of days.  Probably already pretty well dried out by now
though I guess -- but it has been pretty bloody wet out in that
country this year since cyclones Larry and Monica:

Or try:  <http://tinyurl.com/ycn6ew>

Yeah, I've looked at the BOM site........scattered showers and thunderstorms
forecast for the next 2-3 days, and they've had quite a bit of rain in the
last few days too. Rain forecast for all of NQ.

Hmmm. Do we go or do we stick with our original plans of the cabin in Paluma
(boring)

Nah, get yourself a set of muddies and go for it.

GO! Some of the best trips end up with mud all over car etc. Windy as hell
here today so I think the rain has blown away.
http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2479093840063293615NgAHtC was a great
trip and check out the mud on the Hilux and Camper! That was west of
Chillagoe - into black soil country which you wont encounter on the
Einsleigh :)
kathy.

Well, we went to Einasliegh, but only stayed overnight

From there we went back to the Lynnd Junction then north past Surveyor, to
Mt Garnet, Ravenswood, the across to Innisfail to Cardwell.

You're not wrong about the wind, Kathy. We stopped and had a look at the
wind farm. It was too cold!! Yes, in December in Nth Qld, while Vic was
having 42o C heat, we shivered in the rain!

I had a look around Mt Garnett. Hmmmm. My 5 days there in Feb 07 will be
......dull, I think. What a hole!

It's the first time I've been up to the Table lands and Innisfail since
Cyclone Larry. Bloody hell! What a mess. 100-200 year old trees snapped in
half.

I'll upload some pics to my photo bucket account and post a few links soon.

We stayed in a cabin in Cardwell last night..........1000 Ks round trip in 3
days. It was great.

Maybe you should stay at Innot Hot Springs and commute. ;-)

Cheers, Phred.
