hi, i have a  1988 jackaroo , with a 2.6 efi engine and auto trans,
the fuel consumption seems  REALLY  excessive , on 75 litres fuel i
only  get about  440 km per tank full.
the engine runs extremely well ,   NO  missing , jerking, rough
running , and has recently been rebuilt .

trans mission is perfect , no slipping or rough changes.
is  this amount of fuel consumption normal  ?

thanks,
mark k

Thats not that excessive at all? Or are you posting as the cars only now
started using this much fuel?

Thats 17l/100kms.  Time to run through the basics. Tyres, load, sticking
brakes, air filter, injectors (If its been recently rebuilt was new
injectors fitted?)

a new engine will normally use more fuel too
and old engine with old EFI is not a fuel miser that new cars are

I used to have a Mazda Dual Cab 4wd 2.6 petrol and it got about 17 mpg.
Yours works out at 16 mpg, so much the same
