probably been about a lot longer than that, just that it has the new
front, over the years watching Asian offroad comps you get to see models
that we never even knew existed, like the mid wheel base 40 series(I
think this was called a Prado also), the 80s model 70 series Prado,
there was even an early 80s 4Runner based on the early series Hilux, an
extra long wheelbase Hilux extra cab in the 60 series Hilux etc.

I dont think there is a 4 door troopy. We have been test driving and I think
you mean the new Workmate
http://www.toyota.com.au/toyota/vehicle/RangePage/0,5141,4106_1612,00.html
( ie looks like a ute, but has a back seat ). The 70 series troopys are
still very similar except that they have the intercool thingo on the bonnet
( I am talking looks only LOL) but still only have 2 doors.
We would have probably bought a new 70s workmate but alas they have no
extras - ie no duel tank. Wonder why you have a 4wd V8 that doesnt have a
duel tank?

Yeah the Workmate is just a 4 door troopy
the 70 series troop carrier was always available as a 6 seater as
standard(the 11 seat version was the optional model) but only a 2 door,
this new model they call a wagon is just a 4 door troop carrier
I'm surprised that it doesn't have the extra rear tank, two 95L tanks
were standard on the 70 series utes
but taking it to ARB etc. and having it fitted out the way you want can
also be a better way to go
