G'day,

The Land Rover Owners Club of Victoria has commenced the organisation of the
2008 Victorian 4WD Show. Look here for details
http://www.victorian4wdshow.com.au/store/default.pl

But this isn't just a blatant ad.

I'd like to know if there is anything you would like to see at the Show; things
that could be done better, things that might be left out.

You can post your comments here or you can use the link on the website. Either
way, they will get to the Event Coordinator; at leat the constructive ones will.

Shelter from 50 degree blazing sun or pissing fuckin down rain. You
have enough sponsors ARB etc that could supply some decent
shelters...if not hire some, you have enough acres to work with.

The show started off as showcasing things (and to pay for colour maggo
covers wasnt it?) that were not just off the shelf or mass produced,
that is lacking now, with most displays just being the big players
ARB, TJM, and the tire mobs..  I can see them without frying to death
and dont have to pay $15 to go to an air conditioned store...
try and get it back to grass roots...

Maybe scrapping the robbers charging $6-8 for a cold burnt sausage on
a bit of bread - (sauce and onions extra!) and just having more scouts
and Rotary maybe - or let the clubs sell food instead to earn
themselves a few bux?

I know our club is discussing if we are going, even though it sh.ts on
the Jeff shed effort..

but thats just somethings I notice.

Thanks for the (only) reply Biggus. Are you the only other Victorian in this
group?

You have covered the major concerns that came up at the debriefing.

Shelter - The organising committee is looking at options at providing more
sun-shelter. It may also be useful if it rains, but we will have to check out
the options. The suggestion of the shelter being provided by a sponsor will is
being pursued.

Showcasing products - We have discussed the mix of exhibitors and will be
looking to add to the mix by approaching suppliers of different products. If you
have any suggestions, I'll be happy to pass them on. Finding niche products that
aren't mass-produced is much harder in today's market place. We have some, but
it depends on your interest as to whether you would have noticed them - like
lots of camper-trailers :-)

Food - We will be negotiating with the food contractor to reduce the prices, and
perhaps bring in some variety. Using community groups is harder nowadays due to
the Food-Handling laws, but it could provide better value. The food handling
laws would also apply to the clubs.

BTW have you seen the latest magazine covers? Bee-yer-ti-ful!

Dont invite ARB TJM Rays, Annaconda etc And the big players. then
agian it would be an empty paddock then :(

simple solution - f.ck the food handling laws :) People arent stupid
with these things... it wasnt a problem for the last 100 yrs.

I think you will struggle to get much support from people next time,
too many people were pist off last time.
