Hope that wasn't you on your side on the M1 this morning

I saw that truck last night. I could smell the petrol for around a KM before
the site (I came in from the South). Why didnt they just ignite the fuel
once at a safe distance instead of trying to clean it up. Ignition wouldve
been faster and more effective eh?

Can't have that, it might have been quick, entertaining, and cheaper for all
concerned.

anyone who comes down that exit ramp in a truck at the speed he did is a
dickhead
he didn't even make it to the intersection at the bottom
and the force at which it flopped onto it's side is what popped all the
hatches
and he's one very lucky boy, all that petrol flowing about and it didn't
 ignite

he's a dickhead who should never have been driving a truck let alone a
fuel tanker

Ummmm
he was going way to fast to take the bend and it fell over
there were no other vehicles near him, there was no mechanical failure
and he hit nothing else until he tipped
the Guy had only been with Scotts for about 3 weeks, having previously
worked for JACAT(formerly Millers), and after seeing the antics of some
of those drivers I wouldn't be letting them drive fuel trucks

and of course there is the number one reason why trucks roll over
going to fast around the corner/bend

I travelled up and down Cunninghams Gap 3-4 times a week for a couple of
years and hardly a week went by when a truck didn't roll over at the
helipads, I used to run down there empty and would get passed by loaded
trucks(usually with brakes burning), the lean on these as the passed on
the passing lanes(around curves) was scary and the usual result was a
long wait while the road was cleared of bits of trucks and trailers

I heard cornering speed might be a factor but there was a road surface
proble , lets see who and how the charges are laid

 I heard a wheel took a dig

bit to general for my taste , if he was a goose the first week would
see him gone .

considering the preasures some of these blokes are put under
silly to try that hard when cost is considered .

sounds like the coalies on Mt Ousley (wollongong) , you can be jakeing your
way down there, and be passed by everything..........and the air thick with
the smell of brakes, but haveing said that, there are reletively few
crashes, tho, a lot of them finish up on the saftey ramps, stuck fast in the
kitty litter :^)   (lots of little ones running under trailers tho) and
unlike Cunninghams Gap there are no serious corners.

Sounds like a bloke I work with, he told me he can take the exit off the
Bolte Bridge on to the Westgate at 100kph, I think 80kph is too fast,
our trucks are more or less identical but mine is about 2 yrs younger so
I bet one day he's going to have a major crash.
Our boss is very easy to get along with, another one of his drivers
(works for a different customer to me) hit the Spencer St bridge and
rolled the truck loaded with 22tonne of paper, the road was blocked for
about 5 hrs and the tram and train lines were also closed, despite this
he didn't get sacked.
