G'day all,
I'm having a very busy year. When I'm not a work, I'm doing courses and
studying, so apologies for not answering some threads here, lately
What I want to know more than anything right now, is a question for Kathy.
Are you a Fitzgerald? LOL!
There appears to be a plague of them in the Tablelands, and west out to
Georgetown. Forget you Tasmanian jokes............Your bike trip sounds
great. Did you send that letter to Kieran's? I'm sure they'd appreciate a
bit of positive feedback for a change.
Rod, sorry to hear of your close encounters with Townsville hospital. I
still haven't got around to fitting the HF.
I'm loving the job at the mine. It's more than pulling in the big money. I
like the lifestyle, and the blokes I work with.
I'm still driving in and out of work every week (8/6 roster) I get free
diesel at work, which is good, but my GQ is rapidly depreciating, with every
trip and every road train that throws rocks at me.
I'm still looking at switching to Chillagoe next year. It's going to be a
huge operation they're setting up. Hopefully I'll be flying in and
out.............it's a bit too far from Townsville.
Anyway, hope you're all well, and getting out there in your 4wds.

Oi you have to be kidding LOLOLOL nope I am NOT a Fitzgerald although I know
some of them and they are salt of the earth people. Some of them have just
turned themselves inside out for us when we have wanted to get somewhere
(nope, not telling where!)
I did send the letter and a photo to Kierans and I hope they have a pic of
us old tarts on bikes on the wall hahah. It was a great trip.
If you end up stationed in Chillagoe I am going to get some assistence off
you when we do an adventure next year. We need a contact to just leave our
Hilux there for a week or two.
We are actually all packed up and organised to fly to Weipa on Saturday for
the adventure of a lifetime. 7 of us are going to walk from Weipa to the Tip
of Cape York cross country. WE cross the road twice, 9 days into our walk,
and then once after that to cross the Jardine on the ferry. Oh I cant wait!
Hubby and I did this walk together in 2002 and now we are taking 5 good
walking mates with us. What an adventure :)
Good luck with your job, nice to know that you are enjoying it. Email us
anytime ok?
Kathy.

Do you know who would have got the letter at Kiernans, Kathy?
I'm in touch with them on a daily basis when I'm at work.
The Fitzgeralds..........apparently if you yell out "Hey Fitzy!" in the main
street of Mt Garnet or Mt Surprise, you'll make half the town turn around.
We had 7 of them at work at one stage. None of them could read or
write............I kept wanting to call one of them Cleatus.
Nice people though.
