The make of car is irrelevant.

What is relevant is the make of tyre and whether or not the
manufacturer recommends that the direction of rotation can be reversed
for a tyre that has been in service (most will not).

Absent the manufacturer's approval the only "rotation" is to swap front
to rear (and vice versa) on the same side of the vehicle.

what's the f. manual say to do?  Call the Subaru service folks and as
mentioned, the rotationally oriented tyres need to go the same direction.  I
remember someone saying all steel tyres should be kept rotating the same
direction for life due to the steel layers delaminating - this could be crap
however.
