hiya all ive just aqquired a 78 fj40 landcruiser swb thats been rolled and
was wondering if its legal to put a body of  something different onto the
chassi  otherwise wheres a good 4x4 wreckers in melbournes west that i would
be able to find a body to bolt onto this beast   i really likethe idea of a
different body onto it  like a comodore wagon or something but im guessing
that the guards just wouldnt be in the correct place and engineering it
would prolly be a bitch  but still it would look sweet

gimme some ideas guys i wanna get this on the road quickly  i got the need
for some 4x4ing :)

cheers

If they were 10k nobody would buy one, you can buy a fuckin good cond
60 series for that.... complete.

Put a Bushrangie or Dakar shell on to it.  :)
Fairly unique looking, and have a decent bit of running gear underneath
it. If you did that within the next few months, you'd have the only one
in the world running with cruiser running gear (at the moment).

yell if ya want contacts.

Only wrecker I know of in Melb's west that may be able to help is Leo's
Cruisers in Taylors Lakes.
If he can't help there is a huge 4X4 wreckers in Dandenong who has a lot
of 40 series parts.
Also try Don Kyatt in West Melbourne 93269533.
Older model Toyota Crown's had a seperate chassis but I think the body
would have to be shortened to fit.
