Hi
I have an old 40 series troopy with the jump seats running down each
side of the truck. A recent visit from the stork means that I need to
put a baby seat in the back without breaking the bank. I would imagine
bolting a bench seat out of a van or mini-bus and some belts would
only come to a few hundred bucks. Has anyone had experience of this
conversion, what legal hoops am I gonna have to jump through.
cheers

first thing is to find out if the 40 series came out in Aust with a
bench seat across the rear
if it did then all you need is a seat that fits(if it needs to be
modified to fit you will need tpt dept approval) and a mod plate from
your Transport department stating the lower seating capacity
if it wasn't an option then modifications need to be made(seat mounts
and seatbelts) and approved by your Tpt Dept

There is a mob in Sydney that specialise in fitting baby seats to commercial
vans.
I'm sure you'd find them in the phonebook.
Probably the same in Melb and Brisneyland.

Nah, she's so cute, she's worth every cent. A future 4wder too, if
there's anywhere left to go.
