Gday all

i have a 3.0litre diesel turbo 96 model 4X4 hilux.. and im thinking about
getting a lift kit and larger wheels for off road use.

If you change the tires/wheels to be an extra 2 inch or so larger, wouldnt
that cause the speedometer to be out of wack? what do you do to fix this?

Also, does anyone know a good place to get the lift kit/big tyres done in
sydney area.. I want abut 200mm clearance, compared to the 40mm (guessing)
clearance i have now.

thanks mate

cheers,
Kev

Change diff ratios. Change gearbox ratios. Change transfer ratios.
Change speedo transfer input gear. Any of these will fix your problem.

The easiest and cheapest though, is to drive xx kph slower, usually
around 10 kph going from 31's to 33's and somewhere around the 15-20 kph
mark when going from 31's to 35's.
There are sites around with these tyre, diff and speed differences
calculators that you can use to work out what the difference needs to be.
