G'day,
I have recently purchased a 2003 model Nissan Navara turbo diesel single cab
ute which I intend to tow a boat with. The boat/trailer comes in at around
2000kg. In their "advertising" Nissan state that the Navara is rated to tow
2.8 ton, however, on the factory heavy duty tow bar the limits are stated
as -
On the cross member itself - 2.8 ton &
On the towing tongue a metal sticker on a plaque states the tow limit as -
1500kg (with brakes).
Can anyone please advise me on this discrepancy? I don't believe there are
any other heavier duty tongues that raise the tow limit to that of the cross
member?
Also can anyone please advise on their towing experiences with the
Navara....
Thanks
Chris

Call in to somewhere that makes em. Mr Muffler or someone like that or a
dealer. Id be VERY reluctant to to 500kgs over a said limit. Kiss your
insurance good bye of you ever crash with a load over the rating. YOur
insurance company will love you for doing it so they dont have to pay out.

From the Navara brochure the 4WD models are rated at 2800kg or 3000kg.
All 2WD models are 1500kg.
