I know that the Prado is now sold as a Landcruiser Prado, but I was just
wondering if there was any mechanical commonality (if that's a real
word) between the Prado and the 100 series Landcruiser.

yes, they share common bolts.

The keys are similar too.

Are the wipers both rubber, and do both have 4 tires on the road?

Im sure that theres a heap of shared parts from Window wipes to seat runners
to heater and aircon componants, you dont think that Toyota especially makes
different parts for each model do you?

can imagine that, Toyota buys 2,000,000 square metre spare parts department.

Actually they are completley different

the Praddo is basically the equivilent of the 4Runner(which is still
produced and sold in the US and Japan)
it runs Hilux engine and running gear
things like are cleaners, fuel filters, power steering pumps and other
ancillary equipment may be the same across many vehicles in the Toyota
Range

the 100 series is also made by ARACO(spelling?)

Thanks.  I'd only just posted my last question when I read your reply.
That clarifies it all for me.

When was the last time you went past the Taren point warehouse?

At the prices they charge, they can afford to !

I assume they do.  I guess I wasn't really clear enough.  I meant major
components.  i.e. engines, transmissions, suspension etc.
