I live in the bush and we have 3 vechicles on the property  Rocky (4x4), Ford
Courier Crew Cab (4x4) plus Peugeot 307 Hdi  under these green council I
would be hard hit for the new parking fee (??????) because they are all
diesel.

Basicly these council have got it all wrong  saying that   V8 or 4wd are
polluting monster  (yes know it is old story) and cause parking problems due
to there bulk but what they are missing is that ALL new vechicles sold in
Australia must meet very strict anti- pollution regulation whether it is big
Land Cruiser these people mover type vechicle or some exotic Italtian machine
right down to some three cylinder mini must meet these regulations before
they are sold here.   In Europe these regulation are much tougher.

The motivation for the new council bylaws would be interesting. It appears
to be either a dash for cash, or some holier than thou attempt to "educate"
the public through their wallet.
In either case its easy to point the bone at them and declare the regs "un
Australian". I wonder how long before someone mounts a court case citing the
laws on discrimination ?
There are a number of 4wd owners in Macquarie Street. I wonder what their
take on the matter is ?
Cheers
Jim
