Mind you, he will need a high colonic to remove it after.

Barnsey - 24 Mar 2005 04:11 GMT Guys, don't hi-jack my thread!!
For once in my life, I'm being serious.
I need to sell this sh.t box.
And this is the LAST time I'll be selling a car, or buying one for a few years.
The Pajero is great, like I said.
When I've finished doing my uni degre (to learn how to do what I've been doing for 15 years) I'll invest in a new (ish) 4wd and join the "too much money, not enough brains" posters here. eg: I just bought a brand new100 series Cruiser, is it safe to tow a trailer and will I need a sat phone if I take it to Ayres Rock"
BTW a bloke at work swears by those hiclone things.
But he's not much brighter or more sensible than our patients either.

Why would we steal your thread?
After all, you are such an honest trustworthy sort of guy, just about anyone would be proud to buy a car from you (after checking their wallet, socks, pockets and underwear after shaking hands with you)
Seriously, I'm sorry it's the Zook for sale.....I might have bought the Paj myself if you had gone that way. My Subie is on its last legs and simply not worth what it would take to stand it up again, yet I still need a reasonably comfortable thing, preferably with some 4WD capability, that I don't care about too much and is reasonably comfortable on the highway.... Bloke in my street has a late 80's turbo diesel Paj, he's just bought spankers new Patrol (petrol the fool btw) and the Paj is sitting in the gutter. No rust, 4 good tyres, probably go close to RWC except for the rod through the side of the block consequent to dropping a valve.
Anyway, to anyone reading this dreck. The Zook that Barnsey has only owned for a week is obviously a good buy, he hasn't had time to F*ck it yet.

Barnsey - 25 Mar 2005 04:07 GMT > >I need to sell this sh.t box. > > that will bring in the buyers. Oh well, 3 days to go and someone has already bid on my sh.t box who appears to be a resident of Charters Towers. 26 people watching, recieved 8 (mostly dumb) questions)
kevcat - 25 Mar 2005 12:29 GMT Don't tell us they wanna know what make and model it is??

It seems these cars are in demand ATM. Maybe to do with petrol prices?
Jim - 26 Mar 2005 11:18 GMT > It seems these cars are in demand ATM. Maybe to do with petrol prices? They seem a fun vehicle. I wish you luck with it, at the starting price I didnt think you would go wrong :)
Barnsey - 27 Mar 2005 06:19 GMT ROFL!
Looks like I'm going to even make a profit!! This will be a Barnsey first!
I wanted $2k and with 24 hours to go, bid's now $2025. More watchers, more questions.
Usually a lot of bids in the last hour, so who knows what the final price will be?
Jim - 27 Mar 2005 10:55 GMT > ROFL! > [quoted text clipped - 5 lines] > Usually a lot of bids in the last hour, so who knows what the final price > will be? Your future is clear. Sourcing , restoring and flogging Zooks :))
Barnsey - 27 Mar 2005 22:23 GMT >> ROFL! >> [quoted text clipped - 9 lines] > > Your future is clear. Sourcing , restoring and flogging Zooks :)) Not as silly as it sounds. I've whinged at length about the price and quality of 4WDs in Townsville. eg 90 model Patrols with 300,000ks in car yards for $16k, etc. that would be half the price in Sydney or Brisbane. If I could find a cheap way of getting them up here, and someone to buy them down south, there might be a sideline business oportunity.

Speaking as someone who's had experience in a very different area *clears throat* :)) the biggies are; Finding someone who's knowledgeable and honest enough to source them Having the *spare* cash to buy them Transporting them Fixing and registering them Selling them If you only did 1 in a while then its a maybe, but it can take over your life. One wrong vehicle can eat away any profit. Advice ? Whatever you do only trust yourself to do it. Others can be enlisted to help, but you are the one to make it happen or fall on its bum. It can be done, the question becomes do you want to do it ?
Cheers Jim
Barnsey - 28 Mar 2005 04:42 GMT How bizarre is this?
Got an Email from some one saying they live in the next suburb, want my phone number, will come and look .
Last night, Barnsey in usual cranky mood when working nights, agrees with request at 3 pm. Suspects female orriental accent and caller ID on phone coming up as "pay phone"
No show,
Hmpphh.
8.00pm two Japs turn up on push bikes, looks at the car in the dark. don't even start it, and ride off again, saying "inter -rested in car, wife rikes car"
Told them I wanted $2600.
Auction on Ebay.......... 1 minute to go, highest bid $2175. (Barnsey hitting refresh button every 5 minutes since 1200).
All of a sudden $2475 appears!
That's two thousand four hundred and 75 aussie dorrars!
Car sold to Japs!
Coming around to pick it up with cash in the morning.
They probably think they've "ripped of Aussie"
ROFLMAO!
Jim - 28 Mar 2005 05:15 GMT > How bizarre is this? > [quoted text clipped - 29 lines] > > ROFLMAO! Ah soh ! Barnsey family richee, have 2 bowls of lice dis week :)))
Barnsey - 29 Mar 2005 00:54 GMT Correction! The final price was $2575
> How bizarre is this? > [quoted text clipped - 29 lines] > > ROFLMAO!
