Too bad the article didn't give the city fuel consumption because that
where that type of car is most suited, its hardly a highway cruiser.
It will also need a long warranty to compete with Hyundai's 5 yrs.

Yeah i was thinking that too, but should not be a whole lot more.

I was actually thinking to convert it to LPG :-)

BMW do fine with 2 year warranty, you need the warranty at 8 years not
when its new

Gee, someone thought that if we build a car with a low kerb weight and a
small engine we'll get good fuel economy.

Have a look at what the typical small cars weigh in at.  Then look at
what small cars weighed 10-15 years ago.  It makes me wonder whether
it's a real step forward.

Of course, all the extra equipment is nice, but in a tiny car like the
Savvy I'd rather just pay less for a more basic version.

You missed the points.
FoggieWankers can get into the market A LOT cheaper than previously.
You know, the imbeciles that drive about with what they call 'driving
lights' on all the time.
Doesn't occur to them that 'driving lights' are a vastly different
kettle of fish to what they have fitted to their Mazda 3's etc.
In fact, these particular imbeciles would probably sh.t themselves if
they got up close and personal to a real set of driving lights.

The other matter I alluded to ( and the fact is that I'm frightened
half outa my wits by it) is the target market.
These cars get airbags. Lots of 'em.
And traction control.
And adaptive braking with ABS I believe.
This will make many members of that target market believe they are
invincible, and probably even bullet proof.
None of the measures will teach that target market to drive.
It will in some way make up for the extreme vulnerability of the
occupants of the tin cans under discussion, but, I'll say it again, it
WON'T make the cloth-eared bints drive in any way safer.
And they'll still go about treating other vehicles as stationery
objects, still carve others up under brakes, still change lanes taking
advantage of others who don't feel choking an intersection is good
manners, still prop in front of other vehicles when they think they've
found a place to park, still plait their hair and text their so-called
friends interminably, still not pay the slightest attention to road
conditions that 'demand' attention from any reasonable human being and
so on and so forth - right down to crying every time they have a prang
instead of trying just a bit to figure why the f.ck it happened.

Like I say, Ahhhh....Double Faaarrkk !!!!!

So the girlies will rush out and buy them. The reasoning, you see, is
aligned with the disgusting sense of self preservation so prominent in
the female of the species - matched only by their determination NOT to
understand in any way how the physics of driving a vehicle can be
understood and used as a power for good.

Not that I'm saying that girlies should be denied safe motoring.
Not at all.
It's just that many of them simply don't deserve it because no matter
what they drive, their lack of acumen WRT motoring  - *deliberate*
lack of acumen WRT motoring - is all trouble.

Political Correctness Statement:
I am fully aware that many males drive just like the girlies I
mentioned.
Studies have suggested that the brains of some males are actually
structures, wired, if you will, in much the same way as women's brains
in some respects. That's because they're the pooftas.
