This is vey interesting.
Naturally the Ford Territory with reversing camera scores the best, but the
one that surprised me was the Chrysler Crossfire. To look at it you'd think
it had terrible rear vision!!!

I looked at the S Sedan with reversing sensors. But regardless of any
ratings all I can say is hook, line and sinker :D:D:D

It'd quadruple Jaguar sales in Oz even with current 380 sales

$4000?
WTF?

Not content to provide w.nk factor and charge a fair price for it and
use it as sucker-bait.... Oh no!

Go the gouge.

Stands to reason, really.

I have access to an lcd flip down sun visor , the whole kit is only
around $700.00 in full glorious colour .. with camera fitted and
independant of anything else in the car.

You're paying *way* too much for it.

Is that so?
Guess I'll have a look, might fit one to the yacht trailer....it'd
sure make backing 35' of trailer easier.

They are pretty good.  A friend at work got 2 8" lcd flip down sunvisors for his
Patrol for under $400 from some guy in Hong Kong on ebay.  Prices for that sort
of stuff is dropping through the floor.

On the topic of things to help you cheat while reversing, I was watching a
middle-aged volvo reverse out of a space yesterday, and it was evidently
going to hit the curb behind it. I was waiting for this, and then a noise
rang out, and the person braked!  For heavans sake, needing something like
that is lame. What next, exterior airbags?

Shifting focus doesn't work
the 380 was one of the worst

what I want to know is why do wagons, especially 4WD wagons need a
camera, The Jap vans have a mirror fitted to the rear above the window,
these will cover up to a metre behind the vehicle
much cheaper than a camera and no need to look elsewhere in the cabin
while reversing
if your looking back the mirror is right there

this problem of kids being run over is due to carelessness, no other
reason, fitting cameras and mirrors will only add to this problem

Yep, If you are moving your car, the kids are either in it or in the
house FULL STOP!

I have to agree.

Me too.

There is no such thing as blaming "poor visibility" where backing into and
over people & things are concerned, as it's 100% the fault of the driver if
it occurs.

The vehicle type is completely irrelevant.

Come on guys, next thing you'll be saying that we should take
responsibility for our own actions.

Personally, everything I do with my car is the direct fault of either
the car manufacturer or the Government.

I'll bare that in mind when I run you over.

I wouldn't go *that* far :)

Being a product of the politically correct society that we now enjoy, that's
perfectly normal. Don't forget to sue for compensation whenever something
doesn't work as planned.

What about being smacked when you were a child, surely your parents must
take some blame:-)
