The Holden Blimp

That's right, I sighted a Blimp today sporting the Holden Logo hovering over
Carlton in Melbourne.

It was moving away from me so I didn't get to see what the giant red led
display was advertising but I'm guessing the new frightful VE moneypit.

A arts-school looking chick who saw me looking at it in horror added,
"That's my sky, how dare they put that crap in it." Which was followed by,
"I'm never buying a Holden."

Is the Superbowl in town?

God knows how much money they're spending on advertising, with all the paid
media coverage the non-inspiring videos at drive.com.au.

I got back in my XY Falcon dreading the day that Ford would stoop to use
such blatent tactics.

I heard that there's been little interest in Holden showrooms in the new
VE - everyone concerned too much over fuel consumption etc.

LOL!

My mrs's older brother rocks up to my place in a brand new Calais-V last
night V8 of course. I though how nice now the mrs would want an SSV even
more now. :-)

Its a damn fine vehicle to drive as well.

Assuming you only needed her approval to upgrade sooner, then it's all
good. Your bro-in-law has done you a favour. No doubt the new one is
safer than the old one too, which is very important for your child.

Shhh, you'll get the Holden haters all worked up.

Agreed although I am going to wait for a seres 2 model though. But yeah its
a massive improvement over my current Calais though unless I spend the money
on a decent suspension set up it will be still behind over the VE. And kids
uhm oh no I think she might have the oven turned on. I am still praying for
crop failure for now anyways.

The sad part about it is that I can see it happen in my mind.

Sales have picked up considerably now.

Did you kick her??

She will get a cheap 380 for $500 at the end of the year

I think you need to ask the bus lane bandit about super bowls and how
much water they hold

How soon the FORD fans forget the infamous FORD Projector advertising

Yep. It was shown in the "Billion Dollar Baby" promo.

That is a safe bet since an art school bludger will just have to make do
with a 1977 Toyota Corolla until she finds a financially supportive partner.

She's in your class then?

I think a lot of people are running out of things to bitch about now they
have to look hard and really nitpick about nothing really. I haven't seen
the blimp and if I do so what I saw something flying in the sky. I bet if it
was a german brand of car they would be out pulling themselves over it. :-)

Well maybe not but art students f.ck off!
:-)

Because, of course, the arts-school looking chick was exactly the sort
of person who would have otherwise bought a new Holden, right? :)

I've seen it a few times on recent trips to Sydney and I have to say
that the big screen on the side of it is exceedingly cool.  Plays full
colour video.

I've heard they're planning on flying it around over the AFL Grand
Final in order to sh.t Toyota - sort of a nice little bit of revenge
for the Avalon stunt on the day the VE was launched.
