*Maybe* its a Nissan thing?
Our 1st series X Trail used a bit of oil [not much really] BUT i was
not concerned as it was written so in the owners manual [have you read
your manual?] after about 10,000km it did not do it any more [as per
the owners manual]
Anyway, 2nd series X Trail [Even though it was written in the manual]
HAS not used 1 drop of oil....thats more of a concern because now the
manual is wrong...
I think it has to do with the micro-finish/polish of the cyl. bore or
similar. and now they have made a typical S2 running change
A/Romeo use oil as do Mazda Rotary donks, its the way they are
designed, its in the owners-manual, dont go all anal over it, just
check and top it up as required.
Anyway whats the 350Z like, hot looking and going vehicle?

Nissan have started whats called an "oil watch", in other words every
1000km I take it back and they drain the oil and measure the loss. They
have done 2 so far an there is one more to go which also lines up with
the 10k service.
The car drives great lots of power and with the VDC off can be a
handful to keep on the track. I had a 2003 WRX ClubSpec Evo6 before
this (which I used to get my CAMS licence)
This is a different beastve also got the handling upgrade which made
the ride stiff and much more responsive.
I luv the car, just not the problems it has caused me so far. Although
yesterday I did get a call from Nissan customer service and they say
that I will "possibly get a new engine" as the factory has asked for
the engine to be returned depending of the out come of testing at the
10k service.

The Nissan experience I have had with the 3200-tt motor indicates a
decent flog on some nice twisty road helps a lot . Otherwise I guess a
new motor might help but I would like to try the Italian tune up first
and so raise my hand , when will you drop the car around ?

Were you at Sandown last Sunday?
There was at least one 350Z there.

Drain about 200ml out of the sump just before you go there, to help
guarantee that new engine is on the way! ;-)

Probably needs a really good workout to seat the rings. Email me your
address and I'll be happy to drop around and take it for a spin. :)
