Wrong moron, a lemon is when a car or truck is *not* recalled like what
Mitsubishi do. Infact they are experts at it and actualy got away with it
for a long time.

to happen under certain circumstances.

Hypothetically speaking, this might have been an issue on a previous
model as well. I don't have the 'dirt' a friend was actually badly
burned when he was trapped in his garage when it lit up the puddle that
ended up on the ground. I don't know the full story, but his burns were
very real, and he _did_ get a new f.cking car and some decent dough, so
something was 'up'

It went something along the lines of, open garage door, start car, car
stalls, and fire erupts from underneath car. he turned it off, and then
was stuck.

The number of recalls that actually make it to the press compared to the
"private" ones is amazing, as there's f.cking shitloads of stuff that goes
on that the public doesn't know about. They're all as bad as each other, and
there doesn't seem to be a stand-out performer in this area, but some of the
faults previously gotten away with and taken care of as "silent" recalls
done at service time have been f.cking amazing.

Two that spring immediately to mind are the Ford DA LTD and the first of the
Supercharged V6 SS Commy's.

The LTD had a fault with it's ABS in that under certain conditions the
brakes would work fine until it decelerated to around 20km/h or so, then it
would lose hydraulic pressure completely and just ram into whatever was in
front of it. Apparently it was some bug in the coding that caused it to
throw it's arms up in the air if it met a certain condition, and it was
hushed up nicely after a few got bent.

The Commy had the opposite problem.

It had a weird problem with it's cruise control in that if it was enabled in
a certain way, it nailed the throttle wide open and just took off until you
sh.t yourself and stood hard on the brakes. Given that the things were all
auto's and quite torquey, I'll bet that caused a lump or two in the odd pair
of trousers on a wet road :)

That one was kept quiet too.

It was on the very first of the supercharged 6 cylinders.

There was a fix for it out pretty quickly, and they got on it right away.
Still, that never stopped a few getting damaged, and I know of one
personally that was rammed into the back of a parked car with Holden paying
for all the damage.

Ah, I wasn't working for Holden when the first Supercharged V6's came out
come to think of it, so that would explain it.
