Some of you may remember, (and a couple less may care) that a little
while ago a truck hit my beloved Datto while it was parked behind work.
July 12th I posted here about it.
Today I got her back.
Marco, you were asking about old cars as daily drivers? Remember to
factor in that you may only need bumpers repaired - but that it may
well take 3 1/2 months to get them stripped, re-shaped, coppercoated
and then chrome plated.
Boy have I been frustrated!
Well, it's time to go home - it's raining horsepower!
Cheers

Hope it's as good as old, and you're happy with it.

Yeah, the worst bumpers are those black coated with some sort of rubber as
used on XD Falcons. They go all matt-black and no attempts to fix them
works.

And dogs can chew them, as I found out. Subaru Vortex Turbo
AWD Auto. Ended up costing the dog owner heaps when it
couldn't be repaired to "new".

Yeah, looks nice. The bumpers look better than they ever did, and the
holes on the back panel where some stupid previous owner stuck a "twin
cam" badge (1970's rice?!? or the jack shaft?) have finally been
filled in. Now all I have to do is some headwork, re valve the konis,
get new springs for the front and the leafs re-tensioned, strip the
rest of the car back to metal and repaint it, and retrim the interior.
:)
Cheers,
Steve

Now that sounds like a major project. But all part of the fun. : )
