I was shocked that Jeremy was in a car doing over 200k at Laguna Seca
with a race suit and no helmet..

That has to be the strangest bit of Top Gear I have ever seen

Off the top of my head:
    Christmas special. Christmas 2005.

    Golf R32 clobbers BMW 130 M Series.
Classic sports car beats Max Power.
Unfunny bloke from Little Britain takes the sensible car
around Top Gear's circuit ... slowly.
    Laguna Seca beats Clarkson
        (aka real life beats playstation).

BBC International cuts out lots of stuff.
SBS gives people the sh.ts with more commercial breaks.

No point in watching Top Gear on SBS anymore. The "edited" version SBS
screens sucks. Downloading the shows off Torrent is the go. Just watched
episode 3 of this years series a week ago.

Whats the file size of an episode streamed?
And can you save it to CD or DVD?

get your self a bittorrent program, go to mininova.com and do a search for
Top Gear, you want last years epps (because in Australia we are a year
behind) then download the torrent file (choose one with at least 10 "seeds"
(they are the people "seeding" the file so you can download it).
Go to bed and in the morning it should be there, average file size for a
topgear ep is 350 meg, and some HiDef ones are over 700 meg

I'd use mininova.org instead, as it is the free original version. The .com
site makes you pay.

I noticed that too, I wonder if the track officials were aware he was
not wearing a helmet?

Does anyone notice that they frequently often only have one hand, and sometimes
briefly NONE, on the steering wheel, and turning towards the camera, when going
the absolute clappers, or are these bits added on later at low speeds ?

Clarkson will happily powerslide anything with wheels while driving with 2
fingers and chatting casually.

Please remember you just replied to a person that couldn't get out of
the bus lane as he was too scared to take a hand off the wheel to use
his indicator.

It's obvious that he doesn't use his brain to speak. :-)

Captain Slow in the Veyron was the opposite. Hardly a squeak after
he passed 300 km/h. :-)

If you noticed the glazed look of terror in the eyes I expect he was
to busy self soiling to say much .

You reckon that the race suit covered the fact that he was wearing
senior's nappies? :-)

At more than 300 km/h, things happen very quickly. Without training
and experience, information can saturate the brain. It takes a while
to adjust.

I get that when first driving again at free Autobahn speeds... it's
a real strain even at 160+ if all one's seen recently is "110".
Takes a few hours to adapt before one can cruise constantly at a
higher speeds.

Ive only been into the mid 300's and frankly I was at the limit of what
I could process , though that will be tested again later this year ..

Filmed in the USA, the land of litigation where everyone is even more
scared of being sued than we are making it even more amazing that he
wasn't wearing a helmet.

So when did they move Laguna Saga (where the segment we were talking
about was filmed) to Britain or Europe?

For his size Id say that he tried to wear one but couldnt get in the car
with it on. At 6ft 3 hes too tall to fit in with a helmet.

For a brief moment I thought they were going to pull it off.
It looked spectacular at take off.

Was a little dissapointed that they didn't give the Porsche
and the Ferrari to The Stig though.

Cheers,
Rod.
