1. Just got a notice from the OSR - Disobey no parking sign - $79.00 2. Offence was in Quay street Sydney on 05-Jan-2005. at 16:49 Had recollection of going to Canberra that day to pick up MIL - and to take daughter to Tidbindilla 3. Just checked statement from SMB (Car is on Novated lease). 4. I filled up in Kellyville, braddon and kellyville all on the 05th. If I go to Canberra I go Kellyville->m7->Hume - I would NEVER go into town on a trip to Canberra. You suggestions on the course of action is..... Glad I didn't take your 'advice' - which admittedly was worth what I paid for it! Rang OSR with the details including the following data; 1. At 15:25 I filled car with fuel in Braddon ACT 2. At 18:25 passed thru the M7 Gantry at five ways. Note the alleged offence was at 16:55 The guy then asked for the make of my car - which it turns out was totally different to what they had recorded (from Sydney City council I assume). - As an aside it would make it easier for people receiving these reminder notices out of the blue if the details of the vehicle were also recorded on the notice rather than just the registration number. Net result - send them a letter with the above and the penalty will be completely dropped. If you believe you weren't in the area and have evidence to back that up send them a letter with copies of any documented proof. I got a parking fine many yrs ago in Melb and was able to prove with documents that I was somewhere else at the time so they canceled the fine. Daryl |
