Hams are not exempt, taxi drivers are not exempt either,
but a blind eye is turned when and if they are spotted
coppers are the only ones with an exemption who can talk on a radio and or phone
while driving

better term) humour.

So you are backing his innocence because the comment would otherwise
infringe on your intellectual property rights?

actually you are wrong
the QLD traffic laws(and this is not a word for word exact statement ok)
state that using a Mobile phone while driving is illegal and it then
states that the use of two way radios and CB is NOT included in that law
However you can be charged if it can be proved that by using a two
way/CB while driving caused you to drive dangerously or cause a crash

Actually Scotty the Amateur numbers are growing again since the
introduction of the Foundation licence
most CBers sick of the fuckwit truck driver's constant crap are going
for their Amateur tickets
and the Locals usually have no leg to stand on when it comes to TV
interference from a proper radio station set up because it's usually the
fault of their own shoddy TV installations
