As a newbie here what is the protocol re posting links to you tube not
exactly oz cars material ?
Proposed links
relate to compound radial engines
and enormous  ships engines .
it appears there are a few engineers on here .
and some of the links provide a look at elegant engineering and just
nice gear (imo)
Some may enjoy it as a change from bagging each other

Post away I say, I'm all for looking at elegant engineering and just plain
nice stuff :-)
If we can turn the conversation around to trying to fit it in the dawgies
'lux or Athols Bus then all the better :-)

I don't think I blocked Athol :-)
though I haven't seen him for a while, maybe the bus fell on him while he
was working under it and no one has missed him yet :-)

Nope, he is not posting now. I've got an email to catch up with to
him, however he was wondering when someone would notice :-p

Not very observant, huh?  I posted to the "Ping Jeremy or Athol"
thread a few days ago.

Nobody noticed that I'd left.  Nobody noticed that I came back.

I noticed but assumed you were off somewhere shooting at things:-)
Since you are back what is an engineer likely to be concerned about with
fitting a 4AGZE into an AE86?

I don't shoot.  I'm the babysitter while my wife is shooting.

The usual things.  Clearance, emissions, noise, compatibility of other
part of the vehicle (brakes, gearbox, diff in particular).

Nope.  Not really.

I don't remember if they had a problem with the FWD inlet manifold not
having clearance from the brake booster.  I don't think so.  That's the
most common problem with taking a FWD engine and putting it in a RWD
vehicle...

No problem with the inlet manifold but lots of work relocating cooling
plumbing, in FWD form the remote thermostat is located at the rear of
the engine but because of clearance issues it has to be relocated to the
front, the alternator also has to be relocated as it hits the suspension
tower in its original location.
An alternator bracket form a AE92 Corolla bolted straight on but the I
had to cut a 10mm piece out of the alternator at the main mounting point
as the AE92 bracket is narrower.
The engine is now ready to put into the car which I'm going to do on
Saturday then the fun begins with the wiring.

The way to post a totally superfluous link like that and keep it on topic is
to say something like, "Geez, it'll look good in my {any car model}" :)
You'll probably get hammered for driving a whatever but nobody will say
nuffin about the links :)

Sounds good to me.

If you find any nice car mods, i.e Suzuki Mighty Boy with a turbocharged
Rolls Royce Merlin stuffed into it, please post those as well.

Heh, that's great...
Doing something like that has long been one of my 'to do' projects when
I get more spare time. Always wanted to do something outrageous with a
Mighty Boy (preferably kept stock looking if possible).
