I had a chance to stop by the Pontiac dealer to look at the G8. Goo
looking car. They had a 4-door sedan and a GT side by side. Both nicel
equipped but not fully loaded. I think I like the look of the Commodor
front end over the Pontiac. I didnt care for the seat covers on the
door. Had too many bright colours for my taste. The sedan had the 3.6 V-
with 5 speed auto the GT was  6.0 6-speed auto . The sedan showed fuel us
to be 14.7 L/100km city and 9.4 hiway. the GT was 15.6 L/100km city and 9.
hiway. Sedan was 27400usd the GT 30900usd w/o tax and license. but th
dealer had a $6000.00usd "Phoenix market adjustment" on both of them o
top of sticker price. A couple of interesting things I noted was on th
window sticker on the sedan it showed 52% Australian content with th
engine from Australia and the trans from France of all places . The G
said 48% Australian with the engine from Mexico and the trans from the US
Again seem to be a really nice car. We will be going back when my son come
home in July. He has been in Baghdad for the last 9 months where they hav
a Aussie built Chevy Lumina he has grown to like. Hope some of you fin
some interest in the long post.

The G8's trip computer gives read-outs in L/100km?!  I very much doubt that.

Why not, is the G8 also sold in Canada where distances, speeds and fuel are
measured in metric the same as here?

I didnt drive the G8 yet but my guess is that you can choose english o
metric on the readouts. We have late model Chevy truck at work that yo
can choose five different lanquages. I did the calculations myself on th
G8 .

When refering to "non" metric units, the term "imperial" is the correct
