I know the Holden ad is pretty bogus (actually I find all adverts crap).
But was the Ford marketing campaign smoking joints for this one?.

When GMH started their 'goes better' campaign a few weeks ago, I could
see what they were trying to do, but the ads themselves were horrible,
like someone suddenly decided "We need to appeal to non-revheads and
purty darn quick!!!!"
Last night I saw the Falcon series of ads and all was clear; the whole
premise of 'softly softly' and trying to appeal to families was surely
leaked by someone at Ford and Holden mashed up a series of similar ads
(at least in concept) to try and steal their thunder. I can think of
no other reason for their ads breaking 20+ years of tradition and
suddenly going all gooey!
FWIW I was actually quite impressed with the Falcon ad, at least the
one that ends with the kids sitting in the back seat on holiday. The
CGI is very impressive.

Granted the CGI's were great but I wonder if they had anything more
exciting it would cause problems for people in old age homes?.

If I was in a coma for a few years and that was the first thing I ever
saw on TV I think it would induce me into another coma for a few more
years. ;-)

Saw my first example in the flesh today - a non-turbo XR6. Approached
from behind and passed so got a good look at the rear and not much
from the front (.......should I X-post to
Aus.fudgepacking.positions.alt ?) , I don't think it has that 'just-
right' stance of the VE unfortunately. ;-(

Yeah although they seem to drive better than they look from what I have
read. Although I don't have much interest in the FG since they don't
really have any non beige model wagons in the range.

Is that the ad where the guys are pulled over by the cops for being "too
metro" and they drive past a theatre showing Beer the Musical?
